This little ducky is now name Ducklynn (pronounced Duck-a-lynn) named by our youngest granddaughter. I got a call at work that the ducks were delivered to the Post Office a day early!
I called Ken and said, “Guess What?” And just like that he was a hero — took off work, rushed down and got the ducks, got them to their little home in the brooder, got them hydrated and to 90 degrees, and we were off to the races.
The first few weeks were a whirlwind of changing out straw, water, water containers, food containers, thermometers, you name it. Constantly. Washing it all in an endless cycle and vacuuming up straw from all over the house every day. It was very close to having quintuplets, ha!
We named the first two together – the ones with black feet. They are Hortense and Gladys.
